The most common questions we get about tank control

Tank inspection for more efficient production

All cisterns are exposed to various attacks over time and we help you avoid leaks that can cause major damage. Our experienced employees ensure that your cistern meets all applicable legal requirements. Inspections take place at the interval that applies to the particular cistern you have. In addition to the fact that there are legal requirements for the inspection of cisterns, it is also far more economical to work preventively with both cleaning and control, because leaks can, in addition to large repair costs, also lead to expensive operational disruptions.

How often should a cistern be inspected?

How often the checks must be carried out is determined by the cistern in question and where it is located, for example more frequent inspections are required when the cistern is made of steel and even more frequent intervals are required when the cistern is located within a water protection area.

Is your cistern made of steel? In that case, it must normally be inspected every 6 years.

For corrosion-protected cisterns and plastic cisterns, an inspection interval of 12 years applies. Plastic does not rust, but since the properties of plastic deteriorate over time, damage can also occur to such.

Cistern and tank inspection year around

It does not matter if the cistern is full at the time of the inspection because we can temporarily store the contents in our vehicles while we carry out our mission. Winter or summer does not matter either, as the stop at the plant is relatively short and therefore does not affect the operation.

If it turns out that your cistern has damage that requires a repair, we can help do what is required to bring the cistern back into compliance with current regulations. We replace broken equipment if necessary and with your approval. If the cistern has rust damage, we can repair these with a unique metal putty that is type-approved for repairing cisterns.

Inspection of IBC tanks

Inspection of IBC tanks must be done at 2.5 year intervals according to ADR-S 2001:1. This inspection includes:

  • Tightness testing
  • Pressure testing
  • Control of external condition
  • Control of operating equipment
  • Labeling of the IBC container/tank
